Join us for a loop walk to enjoy fall migration. The walk starts with a big vista overlooking the surrounding cliffs where the Verde River used to flow, a trestle bridge and a treatment pond.

Location: Meet at the Clarkdale Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Directions: Travel on South Broadway between Cottonwood and Clarkdale to take the first right turn after the road to Tuzigoot marked 375, 375 A. Park at the end of the road where gravel piles are located. There are no bathrooms.

What to bring:  Bring binoculars, camera and scope as well as water and snack. Wear sturdy shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.

About the Location:  There is a mixture of open desert, riparian habitat, a spring, and a wash. Our walk measures about 3/4 mile with short climbs and descents on some uneven and cobbled surfaces. With varied terrain, a variety of songbirds will likely be seen. A gaggle of barnyard fowl reside at the river’s edge next to the wash.
