About the Location: Schultz Tank is a small pond surrounded by ponderosa pine forest, making it a magnet for both resident and migrating birds. Expect species such as Mountain Chickadee, Pygmy Nuthatch, Western Bluebird, and Steller’s Jay, with chances for Red-naped Sapsucker, Hairy Woodpecker, and a variety of warblers moving through. The mix of forest and water provides excellent viewing opportunities in a relatively easy walking area.
