Bird Walk | Jack's Canyon Trail

Explore Woods Canyon Trail near the Village of Oak Creek in peak fall birding season. We’ll look for late migrants and resident species like Crissal Thrasher, Canyon Towhee, Rock Wren, and Black-throated Sparrow.

Time: 7:30–10:00 AM
Meeting Point: Meet at Jack's Canyon trailhead. From 179 go east about 2.1 miles on Jack's Canyon Road. Just past Canyon Ridge Trail make a right. (map coordinates are 34°47'07.4"N 111°44'00.6"W if that helps).

What to Bring: Water, snacks, binoculars, sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat, sturdy walking shoes
About the Location: The 3-mile round-trip trail is fairly level and well maintained, winding through diverse desert and riparian habitat. Restrooms at the visitor center open after the hike.
