Northern Arizona Audubon Monthly Program presents:
Birds and Bears of Ecuador by Alice Madar
Date: Tuesday May 27, 2025
Location: East Flagstaff Community Library; Suite 5, 3000 N Fourth St, Flagstaff, AZ 86004
Time: 5:30 PM
Alice Madar is an avid wildlife photographer and has enjoyed several photography trips to South America. In this presentation she will focus on Ecuador, where she not only encountered a wide variety of birds, but also the shy, elusive Spectacled Bears, the only bears in South America. Ecuador, a little smaller than Arizona, hosts three times as many bird species – more 1600, and 152 hummingbird species! As executive director of the International Hummingbird Society, Alice’s particular focus is hummingbirds, but she will share photos and insights on a wide range of bird species that live in Ecuador’s Andes mountains, Amazon basin, cloud forests, and Galápagos Islands.
