Build your Birding Skill Sanctuary Sites Conservation Counts
Come join us and explore the Watson Woods Riparian Preserve! We will have the opportunity to bird a great mixture of riparian, juniper, and lakeside habitats. This will attract a good variety of waterfowl, sparrows, and raptors, as well as American Avocet, Wilson’s Snipe, Bushtit, Bewick’s Wren, American Pipit, and Pine Siskin.
We will meet at the Peavine Trailhead entrance on the east side of the preserve at 7:30am. You will find parking for the trailhead at the crossroads of Prescott Lakes Parkway and Sundog Ranch Road, and a small parking fee of $3 is required. The dirt trails are all relatively flat and easy walking, restrooms and water fountains are available. Be sure to bring sunscreen, walking shoes, a hat, binoculars, and water.
For any questions please reach out to Abbie Brozich at 480-519-0538
If you have trouble finding directions to the trailhead, searching directions to the Yavapai Humane Society right next door will bring you to Sundog Ranch Road, parking will then be the first left after passing the humane society.
