Clarkdale - River Access Points x2! Friday September 13th 8am-10am. Meet at Tuzigoot RAP, which is on Tuzigoot Road (the first right after you cross the bridge, just before the national monument) GPS 34.76709° N, 112.03819° W. There are toilets (Nice Jons) and ample free parking. From here we will carpool to Slag pile and bird along Sycamore Canyon Rd. Expect to see and hear a variety of riparian and desert birds. These are short walks with one miniature but slightly steep incline to navigate on the river trail. We’ll visit two spots in Clarkdale: Tuzigoot and Slag pile- maybe a third stop if we have time. These hotspots offer us a chance to observe the unique diversity of both riparian and desert species. Bring the standard stuff; binoculars, hydration, snack, visor/hat, SPF, shoes you wouldn’t mind possibly getting a little muddy. Your guide will be Verde River Ambassador Heather Hofling.
