Montezuma Well National Monument in Rimrock - Wednesday, January 24th, 8:30-11:30 AM.
Meet in the main parking lot for the well. No charge for entry and restrooms are available. We’ll start by walking up to the ancient well/spring and scoping for waterfowl, listening for Canyon Wrens, Sora and more. Later we will convoy a short distance with our vehicles to the picnic area and walk the loop trail through grassland, mesquite, followed by a riparian habitat. Roadrunner is a good possibility and several sparrows are almost guaranteed. This sacred area has produced many rarities over the years- maybe we’ll get lucky! Our saunter will conclude at a splendid picnic area with tables, drinking water, and nice restrooms if you care to bring a lunch to enjoy after the walk. Binoculars or camera are recommended. Heather Hofling will lead. If you have any questions please email: xheatheringx@gmail.com
