Saturday, August 12th, will be the most critical weed pulling event for the summer at Kachina Wetlands - 7:00 am. Knapweed plants are in bloom, and we need to yank them out before they go to seed. The ground has softened from recent rains, so the work should be relatively easy, but we need several volunteers in order to adequately cover the area. Please join us—this is your opportunity to "give back" to Kachina Wetlands and keep knapweed from reinvading these precious wetlands.
Please bring a shovel (if you have one), WATER, a hat, sunscreen, and a light-weight long-sleeved shirt. We will be providing snacks for everyone and sturdy plastic bags for the weeds.
Volunteers who arrive after 7 am can join us by finding the green Rav4 that will be parked on one of the wetland roads. This event is jointly sponsored by Northern Arizona Audubon Society, Kachina Village Improvement District, and Natural Channel Designs.
