Southwestern Willow Flycatcher:  what studying a feisty flycatcher can tell us about desert riparian habitat. Flagstaff Program, April 25th, Shepard of the Hills Church - 7:00 pm: 

The southwestern willow flycatcher resides in dense riparian habitat of the desert southwest. It was listed as endangered in 1995 and much effort has been spent to learn about its natural history. Through studying this species, one not only gains an understanding of its natural history, but an appreciation for all of the challenges facing desert riparian habitat.

Anne Pellegrini is an avian ecologist based out of Flagstaff.  Since completing her Master's in Avian Science at UC Davis, she has had the good fortune to study behavior and movements in multiple avian species. When not working on a long-running project on southwestern willow flycatchers, she enjoys watching birds and the funny things they do.
