Butterfly Host and Nectar Plants Talk and Walk at the Page Springs Fish Hatchery Monarch Waystation Garden, Friday, March 14, 2025, 10 to 11:30 AM. Join Becky Hardy, president of the newly formed butterfly conservation and education nonprofit, Butterfly Enthusiasts of Northern Arizona (BENA), in celebrating National Butterfly Day! The morning will begin with Becky sharing the difference between host and nectar plants, as well as how to attract butterflies to your garden. Afterwards, she will lead you on a walk along the mostly flat (there are some steps) South Wildlife Viewing path where she will point out other host plants that are not in the garden. Butterflies are starting to show up in the Verde Valley, so we may see some as we enjoy the morning. The hatchery is located at 1600 N. Page Springs Road, Cornville, AZ 86325 with a restroom on site. Carpooling is recommended. Bring the usual: hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, water. Rain will cancel the event. For more information about this event or BENA, email info@butterflyenthusiastsofnaz.org.
